A deconstructed King Lear featuring the three sisters after their death, in eternal limbo, revisiting the events that lead to their demise. Produced by Brite Theater and performed in April 2009 at the Exeter Phoenix Black Box.
‘Prescribe not us our duties. We must do something, and i' the heat. Love, and be silent. Pluck out his eyes.’
Three sisters. Three hearts to break. Six eyes to gouge. Six plucking hands. One king. This is King Lear performed by Brite Theater. This is what comes of ‘nothing’.
‘No more; the text is foolish.’
Goneril: Emily Carding
Regan: Noelle Fair
Cordelia: Sarah Thuswaldner
Directed by Kolbrun Sigfusdottir. Devised by the cast.
All pictures by Melissa Barrett.
Artwork by Emily Carding.
