KIT KAT

ROSA: what's (struggles reading) carbon emissions? Do you know?

ANN: it's uhm.

It's like.

Uhm.

No.

ROSA: apparently they are bad, but I don't know

ANN: this one says green house gases are bad as well.

ROSA: I thought green stuff was good, this one says we need more rainforest.

Two young girls secretly take a wounded squirrel home to their treehouse in order to nurse it. But when it is disposed of by one of their mothers, the girls decide to take drastic action against climate change and their peaceful home life spirals out of control.

Kit Kat has been further developed since being commissioned for the Traverse Theatre's Breakfast Plays 2019 and read there script in hand. If you're interested in reading it with production in mind please get in touch.

Kolbrun was mentored by Zinnie Harris.
Reading was directed by Becky Hope Palmer
Starring Ashleigh More, Titana Muthui, Rebecca Elise

Praise for the Breakfast Plays reading:

'the message is a powerful one and made me think very deeply about doing much more to save the planet'

★★★★★ Daily Business Magazine
'An excellent piece of writing, with a strong and highly relevant message for today.'

★★★★ Scotsgay
'The play, Kit Kat, was a joy from start to finish, turning unexpected corners and putting the most urgent question of our time centre stage.'
★★★★ Broadway Baby
Kit Kat is cleverly constructed to move from childhood acts to acts which impact our future. Sigfúsdóttir gently utilises writing to create the awareness of the need for momentum. Never forcefully, not authoritatively, but with sense. Using the future to convey importance.
An Organised Mess
