26th of May at Cellar Door as part of T3 Festival It was unfortunate on so many levels […] a bloody great mess. |
A stylistic take on Shakespeare’s most brutal play. Titus Andronicus takes place in a world inspired by Clockwork Orange’s Korova Milk Bar if Dexter had made it into his kill room, draping it in white.
Rome's inhabitants move to the beat of sickly sweet pop songs as the milk trickles down their throats and the bodies pile up. After all, revenge is a cocktail best served cold, and soon the eye for an eye principle stains the room red, as the beat goes on. A production NOT for children or the weak-hearted, this is an ironic horror play, laced with black comedy and gore.
